Il dupe amletico - aka To dupe or not to dupe? #6

Come va?? Oggi qui da me piove, che tristezza.... fortuna che avevo già scattato le foto per questo dupe amletico ^_^
Vediamo un po'...

Camden Town (Neve Cosmetics) VS Veteran (Glamour Doll Eyes)

Verdetto: quasi. Nonostante il primo sia, secondo la descrizione ufficiale, un nero (ma dove ho vissuto fino ad ora? A me era sempre parso un blu scuro con leggere e quasi impercettibili iridescenze rosse tanto da farmi pensare a un dupe amletico!) con duochrome blu elettrico si avvicina comunque molto a Veteran (che sembra slavato nello swatch senza base e su base Project ma ci ho sbadatamente passato sopra portandomi via un po' di pigmento :P) - negli swatch senza base si nota la componente nera ma per il resto il tipo di blu mi sembra molto simile e la differenza è davvero poco percettibile.

Verdict: almost. Though Camden Town is, according to the official description, a black (where did I live till now? I always thought it was a dark blue with slight red iridescence so that it made me think I could do this comparison!) with electric blue duochrome, it's quite a close match to Veteran (which looks a bit faded on bare and Project base swatches - I accidentally touched them so I carried away some pigment :P). On bare swatches you can see the black component but all in all the blue shade is quite similar and you can barely note the difference.

Spero un pochino di sì....ieri ho fatto un po' mente locale di quanti possibili dupe abbia e al momento ne avrei una decina scarsa quindi, volenti o nolenti, questa rubrica andrà avanti ancora per un po' :P

I hope you did a little bit...yesterday I tried to recall how many dupes I might have to show you and it seems like I have almost ten or so, then, like it or not, this section will go on for a while :P

Jeweled Taupe (Darling Girl) VS Backstage (Rimmel)

Verdetto: quasi, sono molto simili - Jeweled Taupe è leggermente più caldo di Backstage ed ha dei glitterini fuxia (appena percettibili in bustina) ma l'effetto, anche se dalle foto forse non si direbbe (entrambi difficili da rendere in foto), è quasi identico sugli occhi. Hanno entrambi un finish metallico e una volta applicati danno l'idea di essere stati utilizzati bagnati - li adoro!! <3

Verdict: almost, they're quite similar - Jeweled Taupe is slightly warmer than Backstage and has some hot pink glitters (you can barely see them in the baggie) but the result, even if you wouldn't say that (they're both hard to catch on pics), is almost identical on eyes. They both feature a metallic finish and once applied it looks like they were applied wet -I love them!! <3

Dark Russet (Chrimaluxe) VS Dark Ember (Darling Girl) VS Vintage (Neve Cosmetics)

Verdetto: NO, Dark Ember ha una componente rossa a base blu che lo differenzia completamente dagli altri due, Dark Russet e Vintage invece si somigliano di più pur non essendo proprio dupes...

Verdict: NO, Dark Ember has a blue undertoned red component that makes it completely different from the other two, Dark Russet and Vintage are more similar, though they're not really dupes...

Prima che mi metta a preparare la cena di stasera riprendo un po' il ritmo del famoso (oddio non esageriamo!) dupe amletico - oggi Darling Girl vs L'Oréal....alle foto l'ardua sentenza:

Before I start arranging my birthday dinner here we go again with To dupe or not to dupe? saga - today Darling Girl vs L'Oréal...pics will declare:

Verdetto: sì, pur avendo una leggera differenza di sottotono (Dg è più rosato mentre L'Oréal è più freddo con una punta di viola-grigio) sono molto simili.

Verdict: yes, though the slight undertone difference (Dg is a little bit rosier while L'Oréal is cooler and has a grey-violet tone) they're very similar.

Visto che ho chili e chili di make up minerale e che spesso con le novità ci si interroga se si ha già qualcosa di simile, ho deciso di inaugurare la rubrica del dupe amletico mostrando swatches di colori che possono essere dupe o meno....spero vi piaccia!

Since I have tons of mineral make up and everytime there's some new shade coming up people like me wonder whether they already have something similar, I decided to start a To dupe or not to dupe series  posts showing shades that might (or not) be dupes....hope you like it!




Carnaby Street (Neve Cosmetics) VS 55 (MWW4U)

Verdetto: NO - il 55 ha una riflesso blu che manca in Carnaby Street ed è meno brillante.
Verdict: NO - 55 has a blue shift which is missing in Carnaby Street and is less vibrant.

Marie: un delicato azzurro shimmer che ricorda l’abito di Maria Antonietta nell’immagine usata da ARC arricchito da glitter fuxia.
Marie: a delicate shimmery light blue enriched with fuchsia glitters that recalls Marie Antoinette’s dress in the painting.

Dupioni: blu elettrico shimmer che applicato si mostra leggermente meno vibrante e quindi portabile anche per chi teme questi colori.
Dupioni: shimmery electric blue that once applied shows up slightly less vibrant, which means suitable also for those who fear shocking shades.

Von Fersen: ok, con questo nome lo avrei preso comunque - chi non si ricorda del bellissimo Conte  di Fersen in Lady Oscar? Era, assieme ad André (diamo a Cesare quel che è di Cesare!), uno dei bellissimi della serie! E’ uno dei miei ombretti preferiti: blu navy shimmer e non ho altro da aggiungere, basta guardarlo per innamorarsene!

Von Fersen: ok, with this name I would have picked it up whatever the shade – who doesn’t remember the handsome Count of Fersen in Lady Oscar? He was, together with André (to be honest and fair!), one of the most handsome male characters of the cartoon! It’s one of my favourite shades: shimmery navy blue and I won’t say a word more, just have a look and you will fall in love!

Damask: altro bellissimo, teal con shimmer dorati.
Damask: another gorgeous shade that stands out, teal with golden shimmers.

Gardens: il colore delle macchie d’erba J verde a forte componente gialla, tendente all’acido ma con duochrome blu, molto particolare e più bello dal vivo.
Gardens: it recalls grass stains J green with strong yellow base, leaning on the acid side but with a blue duochrome, very unique, looks much more beautiful in person.

Gouttiere: verde foresta tempestato da glitter dorati, non me lo aspettavo così ‘natalizio’ ma usciranno meraviglie anche da questo ombretto, lo so!
Gouttiere: forest green loaded with golden glitters, I honestly didn’t expect it to be so ‘festive’ but I’m sure I will come up with something great!

La Fontaine: la full che ho scelto in omaggio – me ne ero già innamorata leggendo il motivo ispiratore del colore e quando l’ho visto ne ho avuto la conferma J Non è un banale argento, dallo swatch non si nota ma io ci vedo un filino di oro.
La Fontaine: the free pot I chose – I already fell in love with the inspirational motif and when I saw it I got my confirmation J It’s not one of those regular silver colors, ok you can’t tell from the swatcn but I see some light golden interference going through.

Musket: grigio antracite shimmer, quasi nero…non l’ho ancora provato sull’occhio ma da quello che ho constatato gli shimmer dovrebbero tenere e non svolazzare, evento raro!
Musket: shimmery gunmetal grey, almost black…I didn’t try it yet on my eyes but shimmers in it should hold rather than fall out, pretty rare thing!

Majesty: viola melanzana con qualche shimmer  blu qua e là, so che renderà i miei occhi marroni favolosi ihihihih!
Majesty: eggplant purple with some bluey shimmers, I know it will make my brown eyes gorgeous, lol!

Louis: altro viola stupendo ma stavolta con forte sottotono blu, wow wow wow!
Louis: another great purple but this one shows a much stronger blue under tone, wow wow wow!

Per concludere una foto di paragone tra Musket e Brooklyn di Neve Make Up visto che su http://www.mineralmakeup.forumup.it/ qualcuna chiedeva se fossero dupe. Gli swatch sono stati fatti al volo ma si nota bene che Musket è più pigmentato, c'è più aderenza tra il colore ed i glitter, mentre Brooklyn è molto più svolazzante ed ha più glitter multicolor.

Last a comparison pic between Musket and Brooklyn from Neve Make Up since someone was asking on http://www.mineralmakeup.forumup.it/ if they were dupes. Swatches aren't accurate but you can clearly see that Musket is way more pigmented, there's more adehesion between color and glitters, while Brooklyn is more fall out prone and has more multicolor glitters.
