Help me with color block!

Ragazze ho bisogno di tutta la vostra consulenza!!!
L'1 settembre mio fratello si sposa e qualche giorno fa, per mia grande fortuna, sono riuscita a trovare l'abito! Piccolo 'problemino': abito e giacchino sono in perfetto stile 'color block' (difficile da rendere in foto, quella che più si avvicina è la seconda - simil evidenziatore giallo)...

Girls! I need your help!!!
My brother will get married September 1st and a couple of days ago, lucky me, I found the dress! My little 'problem': dress and jacket are in perfect 'color block' style (hard to catch on pictures, the second is the closest to real color - kind of yellow fluorescent marker)...

Spero per allora di avere anche un'abbronzatura decente, ora mi sto già scervellando per capire cosa abbinarci: borsa e scarpe presumo (visti i dettagli) nere, accessori vari direi quasi niente o molto discreti dato il colore del vestito, non vorrei strafare!
I punti interrogativi più grandi sono trucco e smalto! Sicuramente anche qui dovrò mantenermi sobria ma cosa mi consigliate?

I hope till then I'll have a decent suntan, now I'm puzzling thinking about what to pair with it: I assume bag and shoes will be black (because of the details), probably almost no or very discreet accessories not to overdo, given the bright shade!
My main concerns are make up and nailpolish! For sure I'll have to stay on the sober side but what do you suggest?

Ma poi per guance e labbra? Considerate che sono una medium warm, occhi scuri e capelli neri...
Mentre per le unghie ho pensato a due estremi: simil french (praticamente colore quasi zero) o un vampy tipo questo (tra l'altro il verde del bikini è molto simile).

But what then for cheeks and lips? Keep in mind I have a medium warm skintone, dark eyes and black hair...
While for my nails I thought about two opposites: French like (so almost no color) or a vampy polish like this (by the way the green bikini is quite similar).


Cosa ne pensate?? Tutti i consigli saranno ben accetti! :D

Che piacevole sorpresa scoprire che il mio blog è stato considerato 100% affidabile! Un grazie di cuore quindi alla cara Lucia di Cosmetics and Reviews che me lo ha assegnato! Geek Chic Cosmetics - Review & swatches

Non mi ricordo neanche come sono finita su Geek Chic Cosmetics, forse cercando swatch di qualche marchio sui blog americani…fatto sta che ho deciso di provare gli ombretti dopo debita richiesta salva dogana. 


I can't recall how I ended up on Geek Chic Cosmetics, maybe looking for some other brand swatches on American blogs... whatever, I decided to try their eyeshadows after usual request to try avoid customs.

I samples sono arrivati in busta semplice pur avendo l’adesivo del marchio ma con stampa dell’ordine all’interno. Le quantità sono decisamente generose, di alcuni colori le bustine erano meno piene per ovvi motivi di diverso peso specifico dei pigmenti ma ciononostante non deludenti! Sono stati un po’ lenti a preparare l’ordine (una settimana, ma non penso dispongano di chissà quanto personale) ma dalla mail di spedizione all’arrivo è passata solo una settimana! Bene bene!

Samples arrived in a standard lettermail, with the brand's sticker on it and a print of my order inside. Quantities are really generous, some shades had less product (for obvious reasons as pigments do not always have the same weight) but that wasn't disappointing at all! My order proceeding was a bit low (it took one week to fill it but I don't think they have a lot of people working there) but when they sent me a shipping confirmation mail it took only a week to reach me! Yay!

Per l’acquisto dei samples la tariffa di spedizione è di $ 3 (edit: non riesco a trovare info sulle spedizioni ma penso siano cambiate e dipendano dal peso) ma quando mi sono vista recapitare la busta coi 10 samples (di cui quello che bramavo di più per una buona parte disperso nella busta!) ed un francobollo di poco più di $ 1 ho mandato una mail per chiedere spiegazioni. La tipa mi ha risposto in modo secco ed un po’ sulla difensiva che stando alle mie parole c’era comunque ancora del pigmento utile per rendermi conto del colore, della resa, etc. e che la cosa positiva era che si trattava di un solo colore sull’intero ordine (magari in futuro avrebbero imbustato i samples in una ziplock più grande per maggiore protezione) e all’epoca avevano concordato con le clienti di stabilire una tariffa standard e che ero la prima a lamentarsene (per la cronaca non era una lamentela ma semplicemente una domanda), se in futuro avessero ricevuto altre obiezioni avrebbero rivisto la cosa ….comunque i colori mi sono piaciuti parecchio, idem per la resa e durata, forse ho già dei dupes (ma dopo aver comprato mezzo mondo ci sta anche!)…probabilmente un altro ordine lo farò (in più l'offerta di colori è decisamente aumentata e ci sono alcuni rossetti che vorrei provare - Back To The Fuchsia in primis dato che adoro Ritorno al Futuro!). 

If you buy samples there's a shipping fee of $ 3 (edit: I can't find info about shipping but I think it has changed and depends now on weight) but when I received my letter with 10 samples (of whom the one I was most curious about was quite spilled!) and $ 1 and so stamp , I wrote a mail to ask about it. One of the owners replied in a straight and a bit on the defensive side way that, according to what I wrote, I still had enough pigment to check shade, pigmentation and so on and the positive thing was that it happened only to one shade (probably in the future they would have considered putting samples in a bigger ziplock bag) - plus at the time they chose together with their customers to go for a standard shipping fee and I was the first one complaining about (by the way I wasn't complaining but just asking), if they would have received more objections on it they would have revised the whole thing... anyway I really liked their shades and how they performed, I might have some dupes (but after buying so many shadows it's most likely to happen!).... I'll probably order again (now the shadows offer has increased and there are some lippies I'd like to try - especially Back To The Fuchsia since I love Back To The Future!).

Personalmente ho trovato abbastanza veritieri gli swatch sul sito (visibili sulle schede singole dei colori), non so se proverò il fondo (ne hanno pochi e con relativa poca scelta di sottotoni), magari qualche blush ma penso che la maggior parte sia troppo chiara per me. 

I personally found the website swatches quite true to life (you can check them on the single shadows pages), don't know if I'll ever try their foundation (they have a few shades and consequent poor choice of undertones), maybe some blushes but I guess most of them are barely visible on me.

You Have A Destiny: giallo crema freddo e molto chiaro con qualche shimmer, molto delicato – per ora l’ho provato principalmente come illuminante sotto l’arcata e funge bene. Forse potrebbe avvicinarsi a Lemon Curd di Aleguaras ma non sono esattamente dupes. 

You Have A Destiny: cool light buttery yellow with some shimmer, very delicate - as for now I mainly used it as highlighter on the browbone and it works just fine. It might be similar to Aleguaras' Lemon Curd but they're not dupes.


Are There Any Girls There?: ecco il rosa shock che più bramavo tra tutti i colori ordinati! Ha qualche glitterino ma molto fine, l’ho usato nel mio trucco stregattoso (che posterò presto) e mi piace un sacco!! Ben pigmentato, potrebbe essere un buon dupe del bellissimo blush Pin Up di Aleguaras .

Are There Any Girls There?: here's the shocking pink I was more willing to try when I ordered! It has also some small glitter particles, I used it for my Cheshire Cat like look  (soon to be posted) and I love it!! Well pigmented, it might be a good dupe of the gorgeous Aleguaras' blush Pin Up.


Twilight Princess: stupendo verde bottiglia dal finish metallico, già provato con Vintage Neve Make Up ed il risultato è stato più che soddisfacente! Mi pare il fratello del mio adorato Four Leaf Clover Lily Lolo. 

Twilight Princess: awesome bottle green, metallic finish. Already paired with Neve Make Up's Vintage and the final look was way satisfying! It seems to me to be a sister shade of my beloved Lily Lolo's Four Leaf Clover.


Desert Chic: interessante rosso mattone con lievissimi shimmer, tipo i blush Buffd - dovrò controllare l’Inci perché se riesco ad utilizzarlo con un gloss immagino meraviglie! Oltre che come blush… 

Desert Chic: interesting brick red with some sparse small shimmer, just like Buffd blushes - I'll have to check its Inci because if I can use it with a gloss, it'll be awesome! And as a blush as well...


Eyes Of The Werewolf: nocciola chiaro e rosato molto carino (sicuramente già visto), utile come base per trucchi neutri. 

Eyes Of The Werewolf: light and pinky hazelnut, not a unique shade but good as a base for neutral looks.


Chewie: un bel cioccolato al latte shimmer con sottotono rossastro, già me l’immagino con l’abbronzatura B)

Chewie: a nice shimmery milky chocolate with reddish undertone, I can imagine how well it will go with my suntan B)

Chosen One: verde medio con sottotono freddo (non saprei definirlo meglio, sorry!), anche se sotto il sole sembra virare al dorato…complesso! Adoro i verdi ed un altro dovevo provarlo  ^_^

Chosen One: medium green with cool undertone (I wouldn't know how to describe it better than that, sorry!), even if under the sun it seems to lean on the golden side... complex! I love green so I had to try one ^_^


Portal Orange: stupendo arancione pieno e caldo, shimmer – non so quanti ne sto collezionando di arancioni (tanti!!) ma questo me gusta muchissimo!  

Portal Orange: gorgeous orange, super pigmented and warm, shimmer - I don't know how many oranges I'm collecting (a lot!!) but I highly appreciated this!


Drood: altro colore sul quale ero molto curiosa. Si tratta di un rosa pesca molto delicato e purtroppo poco pigmentato, quindi molto probabilmente utilizzabile solo come illuminante, mi sarebbe piaciuto utilizzarlo su tutta la palpebra…in alternativa dovrò aspettare l’estate e l’abbronzatura (edit: adesso che ho un bel po' di basi colorate mi sa che ci giocherò un po' :P)  

Drood: another shade I was very curious about. It's a very light peachy pink and unfortunately not so pigmented, so I'll have to use it more likely only as highlighter, I would have loved to use it all over lid... or I'll have to wait for summer and suntan (edit: now that I collected quite a few colored bases I think I'll play a lot with it :P)


Game Over: violetto ametista freddo con shimmerini azzurri, già visto ma non è poi così male, è una gradazione che mi dona – come per il verde, adoro il viola ed uno della categoria dovevo pur provarlo! Una bella dimostrazione qui.

Game Over: cool amethyst violet with light blue shimmer, already seen shade but it's not that bad, it's a shade that compliments my eyes - as for green, I love violet and had to try one! You can see a good demonstration here.
