24 novembre 2013

Buona domenica!
Come va?

Happy Sunday!
How are you?

Today a post on my October & November favorites:

E qualche swatch
And a few swatches

Mascara Extra WOW Lash Rimmel: I bought it some time ago for its launch attractive price (no more than € 5) and because I always liked Rimmel mascaras... now it's drying and it's almost over :( I really liked it, it lenghtens and defines well my lashes with no clumps at all - it has a very simple brush, with conic shape and maybe that's why it works so well! Easy to remove (the opposite of the Essence Get Big! Lashes Volume Curl I'm using at the moment)... Now I'd like to try a natural one - do you have any to suggest? I read very good reviews on the So'Bio étic False Lashes effect....

Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil Touch of Glam: I actually think this shade was discontinued (I usually buy these pencils when they're on sale, lol)... I never had problems with these pencils (my top favorite was Let's Dance! - a dark bronze you've seen in many looks), very pigmented at first stroke and really long lasting, even on me!

Neve Cosmetics Zen Eyeshadow: I quite forgot about this shade (well if you own thousands of eyeshadows this will most likely happen) but now I revalued it by using it for some very quick looks (especially with Fortune's Smile): on the crease or on lid for an easy smokey...the classic all rounder cool taupe ;)

Neve Cosmetics Soho Blush: this blush was also a bit ignored, maybe because I usually tend to use some slightly darker shades or corals and because I thought it was too cool to suit my medium warm skin tone (since I started using mineral make up my comfort zone expanded a lot and I have this conceit that most of make up shades suit me so when I bought it I thought: "Well, if it doesn't suit me, then I'll use it on  my lips with some gloss")...now, maybe it's because I've never been so pale (in these last two years I barely had some chances to go to the beach during summer, sigh!) but it's quite flattering, I guess anyway it's a really smart hot pink shade that suits almost everybody - so awesome!

Darling Girl Fortune's Smile Eyeshadow: this shade was unfortunately discontinued but I'm using it a lot when I don't have much time or don't want to think about combos.... it's a very soft olive green taupe with light pink iridescence, so cute! Darling Girl is among my top favorite brands and it's well renowned for taupe and delicate shades that can save your make up!

Darling Girl Tainted Love Eyeshadow: it's one of my favorites to use on my crease, it applies and blends like a dream and pairs easily with many other colors (you've seen it here) - you just need a tiny amount but I already bought the petit size just in case...

Rimmel Coral Blush: like I said before, coral is one of my favorite shades to use on my cheeks and this one, besides its good pigmentation and wear, has a big pro: it's compact, therefore very practical. I tend to use mineral loose make up and rarely go for compacts but sometimes it's nice to use these as well :P

Lumiere Eyebuki Brush: I bought this brush through a prebuy collective order organized on the mineralmakeup forum, no more available I guess - right size and fluffy - I'm using it a lot to define my crease, a great purchase!

Wjcon Face Brush 202: I was very curious about this brush cause I never saw any like that and while I was thinking I wanted to try and practice some contouring. I was also thinking, given its quite dense bristles, I could use it with less pigmented blushes...well, till now it was never used for these reasons - I reach for this brush when I just want a quick swipe of color on my lid ^_^ Of course it's not the perfect candidate when I need to be precise but I like it a lot! It's a multi task brush.

Last, a couple of my favorite song during these months:

E i vostri preferiti??!
Your favorites??!

5 febbraio 2013

I know, I'm late but I wanted to share this anyway :P

Meow Gloaming (Glacial Grove collection): a gorgeous burgundy with cool base, super shiny (like the whole collection, in my opinion one of the most beautiful among the Christmas' ones) that I largely used on the crease but as one shade as well, you know when you want to be quick and have a groomed look? There you go, it's among the ideal candidates ^_^

The All Natural Face Magic primer: I started preferring this to the one in jar for oily lids (which seems like has no bottom! Great!) just because I saw a slight change in color, so before going straight to the bin I'm gonna give it a go! It has the same high performance :)

Look by Bipa eyeshadow matte brown: I bought this eyeshadow at Bipa but wasn't 100% sure of it, I liked the color but, as I'm not a fan of mattes, I thought I would have had troubles in applying it or it might have been low pigmented (in fact I didn't use it immediately)....this eyeshadow was an epiphany! Pigmentation is very good and goes smooth on lids (I like using it with the blending brush by Essence and sometimes with the pencil one by Zoeva too), it pairs well with many shades but the best match is Gloaming *_*

Kiko Colour Sphere Duo 103 Antique Rose-Taupe: I revalued this duo a lot, I was initially disappointed by its sheerness but it was so beautiful and shiny under the shops lights....well, actually if you use a good primer it will work just great: it's usually among my picks when I travel and don't want to take too much stuff with me (so as for highlighter and crease color I'm done!), last summer I used it a lot (aka everyday!) when I didn't want to spend more than 5 minutes for make up before going to work....

Neve Cosmetics Glossy Smooth: bello, cicciottoso e con manico corto, come piace a me!

Neve Cosmetics Glossy Smooth brush: beautiful, fluffy and with short handle, just the way I like it! I love it when I apply medium and low pigmented blushes - a couple of swirls and you're done!

Glamour Doll Eyes Sword Swallower: take a look at the bag and it will mock you (like many other mineral pigments) because it looks like a plain, boring silver you've seen so many times, then you apply it and....*_* (poker face!) it looks like molten silver, I don't know, it's super bright and pigmented, you don't have to layer it to reach full opacity....

Darling Girl Raining Blood holo gloss: it's a very sheer gloss, mainly intended for layering (I showed you a swatch here) but I like using it alone, has some copper sheen that emphasizes well my lips.

PS: even if it's a bit useless (because the picture sucks) you've already seen Gloaming, Brown and Sword Swallower in 5 Shades of Christmas & Friends!

Altro giro, altra corsa!

Vi sono piaciuti i pennelli occhi visti qui? Bene, allora godetevi quelli per il viso!

Another day, another post!

Did you like eye brushes seen here? Fine, then enjoy face ones!

And now Zoeva Petit Stippling compared to Bdellium Tools Bamboo Duet Fiber Foundation 953 (which is still waiting to be reviewed, poor boy!)

Bristles lenght and diameter are the same, the Bdellium one has shorter handle and I guess it's more packed than the Zoeva one.

E paragone tra Stippling e Petit stippling

Stippling and Petit stippling brush compared

Besides handle lenght, Silk finish  has shorter and more compact bristles than Glossy amplify, plus has a smaller diameter.

Face Set includes Buffer, Powder, Silk finish, Face shape, Concealer buffer and Luxe sheeer cheek + a 30 ml mini brush cleanser. I will show you Buffer, Powder and Luxe sheer cheek (which, though has  goat bristles, looks super soft, would like to try it!) in detail

Last I'll show you eyeliners and pencils I took (except Sky High eyeliner, I couldn't destroy paos of those which are not mine):

Holaaaaa!

Come va??

Holaaaa!

How's it going? It's raining here today, kind of gloomy..... luckily I took pictures in advance for this dupe comparison ^_^
Let's see...

Camden Town (Neve Cosmetics) VS Veteran (Glamour Doll Eyes)

Verdetto: quasi.

Verdict: almost. Though Camden Town is, according to the official description, a black (where did I live till now? I always thought it was a dark blue with slight red iridescence so that it made me think I could do this comparison!) with electric blue duochrome, it's quite a close match to Veteran (which looks a bit faded on bare and Project base swatches - I accidentally touched them so I carried away some pigment :P). On bare swatches you can see the black component but all in all the blue shade is quite similar and you can barely note the difference.

Stavolta ho messo a paragone tre ombretti:

This time I compared three eyeshadows:

Dark Russet (Chrimaluxe) VS Dark Ember (Darling Girl) VS Vintage (Neve Cosmetics)

Verdict: NO, Dark Ember has a blue undertoned red component that makes it completely different from the other two, Dark Russet and Vintage are more similar, though they're not really dupes...

14 gennaio 2012

Here I am! I was left without connection for one week :(...yesterday while I was getting ready to go out I was listening to Te Amo by Rihanna and I immediately thought of the main colors in the videoclip so I had to use Evil Shades' Spectrum Pot in Fiery Eyes (a detailed review will be up on my blog in the next days) and that's what I came up with:

Since you liked the idea, here's the second dupe or not to dupe? :)

Sirenetta (Neve Cosmetics) VS Green Opal (Lily Lolo)

Scusate lo sfondo :S - Sorry for the unappealing background :S

Verdetto: chiaramente NO, Sirenetta è decisamente più freddo!
Verdict: obviously NO, Sirenetta has a clear cooler undertone!

Since I have tons of mineral make up and everytime there's some new shade coming up people like me wonder whether they already have something similar, I decided to start a To dupe or not to dupe series  posts showing shades that might (or not) be dupes....hope you like it!

Carnaby Street (Neve Cosmetics) VS 55 (MWW4U)

Verdict: NO - 55 has a blue shift which is missing in Carnaby Street and is less vibrant.

3 ottobre 2011

Ecco un trucco 'bold' e forse un po' anni 80, mentre lo realizzavo mi è venuta in mente Walk Like An Egyptian per via dei colori :P

Here's a bold and kind of '80s make up and while doing it Walk Like An Egyptian came to my mind (because of the colors) :P

Ho usato:

Base: All Over Cover Stick Spicy Elf
Palpebra: Skyline Neve Cosmetics
Piega e V esterna: Breakdance Aleguaras
Angolo interno: Bollywood Fever Aleguaras
Illuminante: Ombra di Luna Neve Cosmetics
Eyeliner: Shimmy Aleguaras
Rima inferiore: matita Black Samba Bottega Verde e Crayon de Couleurs Jaune Or Yves Rocher
Mascara: Rimmel Sexy Curves

I used:

Base: Elf All Over Cover Stick Spicy
Lid: Neve Cosmetics Skyline
Crease & Outer V: Aleguaras Breakdance
Inner corner: Aleguaras Bollywood Fever
Ighlighter: Neve Cosmetics Ombra di Luna
Eyeliner: Aleguaras Shimmy
Lower lashline: Bottega Verde Black Samba eyepencil & Yves Rocher Crayon de Couleurs Jaune Or
Mascara: Rimmel Sexy Curves

I know, with the right black eyeliner (or even better with a kajal) it would have been perfect but I didn't want it to be too too much!

10 luglio 2011

Pronte per il secondo round?!
Ready for second round?!

Al sole - outdoor

Sparkle sparkle!

All'interno - indoor

Marie: a delicate shimmery light blue enriched with fuchsia glitters that recalls Marie Antoinette’s dress in the painting.

Dupioni: shimmery electric blue that once applied shows up slightly less vibrant, which means suitable also for those who fear shocking shades.

Von Fersen: ok, with this name I would have picked it up whatever the shade – who doesn’t remember the handsome Count of Fersen in Lady Oscar? He was, together with André (to be honest and fair!), one of the most handsome male characters of the cartoon! It’s one of my favourite shades: shimmery navy blue and I won’t say a word more, just have a look and you will fall in love!

Damask: altro bellissimo, teal con shimmer dorati.
Damask: another gorgeous shade that stands out, teal with golden shimmers.

Gardens: it recalls grass stains J green with strong yellow base, leaning on the acid side but with a blue duochrome, very unique, looks much more beautiful in person.

Gouttiere: verde foresta tempestato da glitter dorati, non me lo aspettavo così ‘natalizio’ ma usciranno meraviglie anche da questo ombretto, lo so!
Gouttiere: forest green loaded with golden glitters, I honestly didn’t expect it to be so ‘festive’ but I’m sure I will come up with something great!

Al sole - outdoor

Sparkle sparkle!

All'interno - indoor

La Fontaine: the free pot I chose – I already fell in love with the inspirational motif and when I saw it I got my confirmation J It’s not one of those regular silver colors, ok you can’t tell from the swatcn but I see some light golden interference going through.

Musket: shimmery gunmetal grey, almost black…I didn’t try it yet on my eyes but shimmers in it should hold rather than fall out, pretty rare thing!

Majesty: eggplant purple with some bluey shimmers, I know it will make my brown eyes gorgeous, lol!

Louis: another great purple but this one shows a much stronger blue under tone, wow wow wow!

Last a comparison pic between Musket and Brooklyn from Neve Make Up since someone was asking on http://www.mineralmakeup.forumup.it/ if they were dupes. Swatches aren't accurate but you can clearly see that Musket is way more pigmented, there's more adehesion between color and glitters, while Brooklyn is more fall out prone and has more multicolor glitters.
